DMA Companies is Hiring a Maintenance Technician Near Bowie, TX

Position Overview

As the Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for coordinating and managing all facets of maintenance of the property. You will oversee and perform daily maintenance requests in a timely manner while keeping safety as priority. You will also be performing after hours and “on call” duties as required. There will be a great amount of interaction with residents and guests, therefore, maintaining excellent customer service is imperative.

Position Responsibilities

  • Ensure the property remains clean and safe by frequently picking up around the grounds.
  • Pick up daily work orders and prioritize workload to accommodate residents.
  • Perform maintenance on occupied units according to work orders.
  • Be alert to any other potential problems in occupied units – fix if small and timely, report larger more time-consuming issues to Property Manager.
  • Leave completed service request in all apartments upon leaving and record all time spent in each unit on each work order.
  • Clean up debris that is caused by maintenance work.
  • Provide completed work order to office staff to complete out of the system.
  • Replace filters and clean air conditioning vents in vacant apartments and occupied units on as needed basis
  • Perform HVAC, plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, and other interior repairs
  • Assists in completing the turnovers/make-readies of vacant units, including painting, repairs, carpentry, wall/sheetrock repair, carpet shampoo/vinyl repair, lock changes, etc., as needed.
  • Maintain a schedule of preventative maintenance and supply inventory for the property.
  • HVAC experience required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of property maintenance experience required.
  • Must have current CFC certification according to the Environmental Protection Agency or willingness to obtain immediately.
  • Must be able to operate hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License required.

Working Environment/Physical Demands
Normal physical activity can be strenuous and may involve prolonged standing, walking, reaching, bending, crouching, stooping, and laying. The operation of hand and power tools will be required for this position and the employee must be able to manipulate up to and over 100 pounds.

Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors and may be exposed to inclement weather. The Maintenance Technician may also be in situations where electrical shock hazards may occur and/or exposed to dangerous heights, dangerous chemicals, and skin irritants (e.g. cleaning solutions, solvents, insecticides). The use of goggles, gloves, safety boots, and other safety equipment may be required. While performing the demands described above, the Maintenance Technician will regularly be required to talk, hear, stand, and use hand and fingers to handle/feel objects, operate tools or controls, operate office equipment and reach with hands/arms.
